Everything is now prepared for a one-day nationwide prayer rally to be held in Umuahia, the capital of Abia State, with the theme "When the Righteous Are in Authority." Nigeria Prays, a nongovernmental organization, is organizing the event.
According to a statement from the Abia State Coordinator of Nigeria Prays, Apostle Chuks Alozie, the rally by Nigeria Prays, a passion project of former Head of State, Gen Dr. Yakubu Gowon, would be at the Master's Vessel Church, Umuahia on Sunday, April 23, 2023.
Drawing his inspiration for the rally from Proverbs 29:2 in the Bible, Alozie revealed that the former head of state and the incoming governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, will be among the special guests who will speak at the prayer rally. Alozie also revealed that Prof. Madu Ofo Iwe, vice chancellor of the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike (MOUAU), will serve as the rally's guest speaker.
According to Apostle Alozie, Senior Apostle Emmanuel O. Agomoh, Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Abia State, will join other men of God in praying for the country.
These include Rev. Dr. Emma Nzeako, the district superintendent of the United Church of Christ District 4, Rev. Ukanwanne Ikwunze, the deputy general superintendent of the Saviours Evangelical Church Nigeria Inc., Rev. Ojo Ojo, the chairman of the Aba DCC Evangelical Church Winning All (CWA), and Prof. B.N. Marire, the coordinator of the South East Zone of Nigeria Prays.
Pastor Amara Uwaeziozi, the president of Masters Vessel Church, was selected as the rally's host minister by the Nigeria Prays Coordinator. The governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu, was appointed the event's primary host.
In addition to other psalmists, the choirs of The United Church of Christ (UCC), Masters Vessel Ministry, and ECWA Township Church will perform.
