flood cuts off Ughelli/Asaba road, leaving trapped drivers and passengers

 

As the devastating flood continued to wreak devastation over Delta state, displacing more residents, THE Ughelli/Asaba road was submerged.

Approximately seven distinct locations on the

congested Ughelli/Asaba expressway were blocked off by the ominous water as of the time of reporting this report.

Before the Nsukwa junction, our correspondent in the area reports that the flood has blocked the road at Ellu, Aradhe, Obetim, Obikwele, Iselegu, and Ossisa.

Over eight automobiles have lost their engines, according to some drivers who spoke to the Vanguard, and they bemoaned how the flood had nearly rendered the road inaccessible.

Additionally, additional families have been made homeless and placed in difficult circumstances as more homes in the Asaba, Kwale, Ughelli, Aboh, and Isoko axis have been swamped by the flood.
