The US head of state, stated in a Tuesday CNN exclusive interview that he thought Russian President Vladimir Putin is
a "rational actor" who yet miscalculated his capacity to invade and repress the people of Ukraine.Biden told Jake Tapper, "I think he is a rational actor
who has dramatically miscalculated," as Russian airstrikes on Ukrainian
civilian targets marked a new turning point in the conflict that had been
raging for months.
The interview with Biden came as the situation in Ukraine is
approaching its ninth month, offering new insight into his thinking as top US
officials watch the violence take place in Ukraine with growing worry.
In the interview, Biden, who previously stated that the risk
of "nuclear Armageddon" was at its greatest point in 60 years, added
that threats coming from Russia might have devastating results.
